Why Join Grover PTSA?

Get connected– There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school.  Everyone- parents, educators, students and other citizens active in their schools and communities – are invited to join our non-profit organization.

Memberships are for individuals not families.  Membership is open to anyone concerned about issues concerning children. We strongly encourage both parents to join. You must be a GMS PTSA member to volunteer at any GMS PTSA sponsored event due to insurance reasons. Click the “JOIN” link above to join the GMS PTSA.

Tap in the network– Parenting is not easy- it helps to share ideas, concerns and experiences with other parents and educators in the community. PTSA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues.

Speak up– Because the PTSA is a forum for idea exchange and advocacy, PTSA can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change.

Witness Improvement– By getting involved in the PTSA, you’ll help make positive changes. Local PTSAs play an important role in fundraising to provide building improvements, curriculum based programs, and social events, which is all vital to a school’s success. Research has proved that kids do better when parents are involved. Grades are higher, test scores improve and attendance increases.

Be a Role Model– As a PTSA member, you demonstrate to your child the importance you place on education.

Benefits Everyone– PTA addresses issues that are important to parents and public school administrators. Please consider becoming an active PTSA member and see for yourself how rewarding it can be. Depending on your interests and available time, you can join one of our committees, attend monthly meetings, or assist at PTSA events.  It all begins with membership. Dues are only $6 a year. So become a GMS PTSA member, today!

Among the many valuable programs that GMS PTSA sponsors are:

  • Mini-Grants to teachers for new and innovative programs
  • Educational and fun assemblies for our students
  • Parent education programs
  • Reflections – A National Arts Recognition and Achievement Program
